Briana, MOTR/L

Occupational Therapist

Briana earned her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of New Mexico and is beginning her career with a passion for pediatrics and school-based therapy. Her areas of interest include activities of daily living, motor planning and dyspraxia, co-regulation and emotional regulation, and fine and visual-motor development.

Briana chose pediatric occupational therapy because she believes every child deserves the opportunity to participate fully in the magical, chaotic, and essential work of childhood: play. She loves meeting children where they are and turning hard work into play, small victories into meaningful milestones, and everyday routines into opportunities for growth. Multi-step sensory-motor obstacle courses are one of her favorite interventions, and she especially enjoys working with children with Down syndrome.

One thing Briana wants every parent to know is that they are one of the most important members of their child’s therapy team. She values partnering with families to help skills learned in therapy carry into everyday life.

Outside of the clinic, Briana spent 15 years as a dancer. One of her favorite quotes comes from Mulan: “The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all.”
