Shayna, MOT, OTR/L

Occupational Therapist

Shayna earned both her bachelor’s degree in Biology and master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of New Mexico. She has a particular interest in pediatrics, autism, cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions, as well as neurological and orthopedic-based treatment approaches.

Shayna chose pediatrics because she loves working with children and finds it incredibly rewarding to watch them develop new skills, gain confidence, and build a foundation for greater independence. She especially enjoys vestibular activities and incorporating neurological and orthopedic approaches into treatment. Shayna wants families to know that independence doesn’t look the same for every child. Occupational therapy focuses on each child’s individual strengths, needs, and goals to help them participate as fully and independently as possible.

Outside of the clinic, Shayna is a dog lover with five dogs of her own. One of her favorite reminders is, “In a world where you can be anything, be kind.”
